BA156 – Supergel Microsilica

Product Description

A gelled microsilica material with extreme water reduction and fluidity properties, eliminating the environmental hazards of using silica fume (in powder form) and also due to its more uniform distribution in concrete, improves the properties of hardened concrete.
The effects of gelled microsilica material after use in concrete can be analyzed with the following standards: BS EN 12390-8, BS 1881-122

Properties and effects

  • Reducing cement content in concrete
  • A strong water reducer with the ability to maintain slump
  • Increasing mechanical resistance
  • Reducing concrete permeability
  • Ease of pumping and reducing wear and tear on concreting equipment
  • Compatible with all types of cements
  • Increasing the electrical resistance of concrete
  • Increasing the abrasion resistance of concrete
  • Preventing the penetration of chlorine ions and other chemically destructive ions into concrete
  • Reducing cracks in concrete compared to using powder form
  • Increasing the durability of concrete

Applications

  • High-strength, impermeable, durable concrete and durable
  • Reinforced and unreinforced concrete
  • Concrete for marine structures, water transfer channels and treatment plants
  • Making high-strength concrete to reduce the dimensions of structures
  • Making concrete that requires minimum electrical conductivity
  • Suitable for making concrete exposed to explosion

Consumption amount

Depending on the environmental conditions of the construction and concreting site and the required strengths, the consumption amount will be determined by workshop tests. This amount will be about 1 to 3 percent of the weight of the cement consumed.

Usage method

BA156 microsilica gel can be added to concrete in two ways

  1. After complete mixing of all concrete components
  2. Mix with all or part of the concrete mixing water and add to the concrete mixtureThe typical usage of BA115 concrete superplasticizer is between 0.3 and 0.8 percent of the weight of cement (total cementitious materials). Amounts outside this range are permitted subject to field tests.
